Description
- The Tape Speed indicator enables you to visualize the speed of orders moving through the market. The indicator graphs the speed of the data from the Time & Sales (T&S) trade window.
- Reading the velocity of trades is essential in knowing what price level money is moving in and out of the market.
- NOTE: For time based charts only (hours, minutes, seconds)
Key Features
- Includes sensitivity setting - sensitivity of 1 is normal sensitivity. Higher sensitivity numbers mean LESS sensitive. That is more area in the 'normal' area.
- Alarms for high and low settings
- Ability to change the color and width of the speed bars
- Only works on time based charts (minute, second, etc.).
NOTE:
THIS INDICATOR REQUIRES
historical
tick data. Some
Data Feed vendors do not provide this in their feed (IB, Tradestation, etc.).
To use this indicator you must have an unfiltered data feed such as
Zen-Fire provided by
Mirus Futures.
This indicator must calculate as the live data comes in.
It creates bars when they are the most current. It cannot create them once they are older. Therefore, if you hit F5 or any behavior equivalent to hitting F5 (adding another indicator to the chart, changing a parameter in any indicator on the chart) while the indicator is active, all the
indicator bars that were calculated on the live data, become historically based and no data is there to recreate them. They will "disappear".
Please note this is normal behavior and a necessary part of the indicator design.
